Preparation meets opportunity, does it not? If you don’t know where you're going or what you’re doing, how do you know where you’re headed? Like a sailor, without a destination, you’re lost at sea. When setting goals, first thing’s first! But why? What for? Goals give you a sense of direction, provide a vision, contribute meaning and feed you a purpose.
Goal setting, although easy to do, is easily forgotten. All good plans start with a clear, concise picture that are all very well thought-out, organized, specific, detailed, measurable and most important, time-targeted. The better you define them, the better you describe them, the harder you will work to finally achieve them!
Having goals, they will motivate you! ...they motivate me! It’s a process that allows you to work towards your own personal objectives and helps you grow, progress and succeed both in and outside of the gym. Obstacles, although they may slow you down at times, should never stop or discourage you to ever give up or distract you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Instead, figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. Anyone is capable of doing anything they set their mind to!
Setting goals is the first step into turning your dreams, wishes and ideas into reality. You don’t have to be a celebrity, professional athlete or a CEO of a business to set a goal. Instead, the only thing needed is the will, want, need and desire to achieve the unthinkable to do the impossible. If you can imagine if, you can achieve it. If you dream it, you can become it!
