There is state funding available for low income families to add to their food budget to "put healthy and nutritious food on the table." That's a direct quote from the program's purpose. It used to be called California Food Stamps and now it's known as CalFresh. The problem is that many fast food joints and 7-11 accept CalFresh dollars (known as EBT, Electronic Benefit Transfer). Am I the only one who believes this is fundamentally wrong?
